In 1993 the number of police officers in a New York police station stood on 56, but in 1994 it fell by 52. The year 1995 saw a further increase in the number of police officers and in 1996 it reached the lowest point of only 42. Then the trend grew dramatically and in 1999 there were almost as many of them as in 1994. In fact, from 1998 to 2000 the number rose steadily and then fluctuated at 58 in 2001 and 2002.
