Classes have beed removed

The "My Classes" function and the creation of accounts on LearningApps for students have repeatedly led to complaints from data protection authorities in the past. Furthermore millions of accounts for students that are very likely to no longer be used also lead to an unnecessarily large burden on the LearningApps infrastructure. In spring 2021, we therefore announced that from the start of the school year 2021/2022, no more new classes can be created and existing classes will be deleted at the end of 2021. We have prominently displayed this information in a red info box. No apps will be lost by cancelling the "My Classes" function. The old yellow class folders have been automatically converted into regular blue folders.

As a replacement for classes, we now offer "Collections" as of spring 2021. You can create a collection for your class and assign apps to this collection. As with classes, you have the option of tracking the students' work and also letting the students create new apps directly in the collection. The main innovation is that students no longer need user accounts. As a teacher, all you have to do is provide the link to the collection and the students can start working. Unfortunately, but also understandably, these changes are not yet taken into account in many tutorials.
